Atlantic Flight Training Academy, Ireland’s largest pilot training school based at Cork International Airport, has just announced the arrival of 97 Libyan airline cadets in Ireland as part of a major pilot training contract signed between AFTA and the Libyan Ministry of Transport.

Mark Casey, President and CEO of AFTA and Mr Mukhtar Fathalla the Libyan Deputy Minister of Transport in Tripoli in late 2013.
The Libyan cadets, who arrived in January, have already started a 6 month English & aviation language foundation course and are expected to begin a 16 month integrated commercial pilot training program at Cork International Airport at the end of July.
AFTA are expected to receive a further 100 Libyan cadets in Ireland by July of this year, making this the largest pilot training contract ever to be signed by an Irish Flight Training Academy.
Once the Libyan cadets have completed their pilot training in Ireland, it is expected that they will return to Libya to take up positions as First Officers with one of the national carriers, Afriqiyah Airways or Libyan airlines.
Atlantic Flight Training Academy has been successfully training commercial airline pilots for nearly 20 years at Cork International Airport. In recent years AFTA has gained a reputation globally as one of Europe’s leading pilot training academies. The academy was also in the headlines early in 2013 when they signed another major pilot training contract with the national airline of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, to train their cadets over the coming years.
Atlantic Flight Training Academy is now globally recognised as an established Centre of Excellence for airline pilot training and is set to build upon this quality reputation in the coming years.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][dt_fancy_image type=”uploaded_image” image_id=”190″ lightbox=”true” image_hovers=”true” style=”1″ width=”270″ padding=”10″ margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”0″ margin_left=”0″ margin_right=”0″ align=”left”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”0″ full_width=”” padding_left=”0″ padding_right=”0″ animation=”” type=”” bg_color=”” bg_position=”top” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” bg_cover=”false” bg_attachment=”false” padding_top=”0″ padding_bottom=”0″ enable_parallax=”” parallax_speed=”0.1″ bg_video_src_mp4=”” bg_video_src_ogv=”” bg_video_src_webm=”” bg_type=”” parallax_style=”” bg_image_new=”” layer_image=”” bg_image_repeat=”” bg_image_size=”” bg_cstm_size=”” bg_img_attach=”” parallax_sense=”” bg_image_posiiton=”” animation_direction=”” animation_repeat=”” video_url=”” video_url_2=”” u_video_url=”” video_opts=”” video_poster=”” u_start_time=”” u_stop_time=”” viewport_vdo=”” enable_controls=”” bg_override=”” disable_on_mobile_img_parallax=”” parallax_content=”” parallax_content_sense=”” fadeout_row=”” fadeout_start_effect=”” enable_overlay=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_pattern=”” overlay_pattern_opacity=”” overlay_pattern_size=”” overlay_pattern_attachment=”” multi_color_overlay=”” multi_color_overlay_opacity=”” seperator_enable=”” seperator_type=”” seperator_position=”” seperator_shape_size=”” seperator_svg_height=”” seperator_shape_background=”” seperator_shape_border=”” seperator_shape_border_color=”” seperator_shape_border_width=”” icon_type=”” icon=”” icon_size=”” icon_color=”” icon_style=”” icon_color_bg=”” icon_border_style=”” icon_color_border=”” icon_border_size=”” icon_border_radius=”” icon_border_spacing=”” icon_img=”” img_width=”” ult_hide_row=”” ult_hide_row_large_screen=”” ult_hide_row_desktop=”” ult_hide_row_tablet=”” ult_hide_row_tablet_small=”” ult_hide_row_mobile=”” ult_hide_row_mobile_large=””][vc_column width=”1/1″ animation=””][vc_masonry_media_grid style=”all” items_per_page=”10″ element_width=”4″ gap=”15″ button_style=”rounded” button_color=”blue” button_size=”md” arrows_design=”none” arrows_position=”inside” arrows_color=”blue” paging_design=”radio_dots” paging_color=”grey” loop=”” autoplay=”-1″ item=”masonryMedia_Default” grid_id=”vc_gid:1437512446363-8b82c1e3-87eb-1″ include=”219,223,222,221,220,190″][vc_empty_space height=”32px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
