I completed my fully Integrated Commercial pilot training at AFTA in February 2015, and since, got an interview with Ryanair. I have now been offered a position as a cadet with them and looking forward to start the type rating for the B737-800 in October.
Since day 1 of the course in AFTA, the instructors guided me through the basics of flying using a humorous but effective approach to explain the principles of flying to me. I have always found the atmosphere between instructors and students to be very friendly and also professional at the same time. They always tried to put me at ease in the plane to get the best of me during the exercise.
The practical training in AFTA was amazing. The weather can sometimes be very challenging but that gives you experience in planning a flight and making decisions, especially when you fly solo. The final part of the training was delivered on a brand new AFTA B737-800 simulator with the aim to teach you the basic handling skills of a jet and to get you to work as a crew. Once again, there was a friendly atmosphere between the experienced instructors and the students.
AFTA helped me in numerous ways to achieve my dream of becoming a pilot and I got an incredible experience with everyone involved with the school. They follow you closely during every stage of your training and give you the advice you need to progress and will help you after it to help you get a job.
The training can be challenging but, at the end of the line, is very rewarding.
