AFTA has been in operation since 1993 training aviation professionals to the highest standards.
Atlantic Flight Training Academy conducts all flight training operations from Cork International Airport (IATA: ORK, ICAO: EICK). Cork Airport is the international gateway to the south of Ireland and Ireland’s second busiest airport after our Capital Dublin. Cork Airport has an elevation of 153 m (502 ft) above sea level, located 3.5NM south of Cork City and a Hub for Aer Lingus, Aer Lingus Regional and Ryanair. Cork’s 21st century airport terminal was opened in 2006. Designed by HOK and Jacobs Engineering Group the new terminal contains several shops, bars & restaurants, a bank and executive lounge. A new state of the art control tower also opened in 2009 upgrading Cork’s Air Traffic Management.
Cork International Airport Hotel and The Radisson Blu Hotel serve Cork Airport providing a variety of restaurants, bars and activities. The airport is served by taxi and regular bus services. Car hire is available in the terminal with nine car rental firms located at the airport. Short-term and long-term car parking is available at the airport with over 4,600 spaces available. Free Parking is available to all AFTA students at our Academy.
