Intermediate Flight Instructor
Description
Atlantic Flight Training Academy are recruiting for experienced IRI full time flying instructors.
AFTA operate a large fleet of G1000, R and S Cessna 172 aircraft and Piper PA34 aircraft training domestic and international cadets for some of the world’s largest airlines. The purpose of the Flying Instructor role is to teach student pilots and to flag and resolve issues early before large problems develop. NTS are taught at an elementary level at AFTA.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Flight and Ground tuition – Delivering instruction to students and completing the associated paperwork and record keeping.
- Monitoring student progress, carrying out student reviews, making sure flying standards are adhered to and being available if an issue arises.
- Ensuring that training is conducted in accordance with the approved syllabi.
- Conducting regular sampling checks (Progress) with students as required by the training syllabus.
- Acting upon any safety information or instructions in relation to flight operations and regulations as advised by the IAA and AFTA HT.
- Ensuring that student welfare and discipline is monitored at all times.
- Maintaining full and accountable records for AFTA management.
- Maintaining a safety oversight of all flight and synthetic flight operations.
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures and manuals and statutory regulations are being adhered to.
- Have a proactive approach to Health & Safety & Compliance and lead by example.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of CPL/MEIR FI (A) CRI (A) IRI (A) is required
- Minimum 500 hours of Flight Instruction
- Medical Certificate
- Aeronautical Legislation, rules (EU FEI / OPS / Sols etc.).
- Knowledge of technical aspect of an aircraft and aerodynamics
- Must be familiar with aircraft and simulators
- Knowledge of EASA PART-ORA, ATO Manuals, ATPL theory subjects and practice is required along with knowledge of aircraft and the aviation industry
- Ability to create teaching documents and manage control in the class room
- Proficient in the use of teaching aids i.e. whiteboard, models, laptop etc.
- Experience teaching people and personalities from a variety of cultures is required
- High level of PC skills required. Must be proficient with Microsoft, email, internet, intranet applications
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years’ experience as an Instructor is preferred
- ICAO English level 5 or 6 required
- Demonstrated high level knowledge of all aviation ground subjects is desirable.
