Instructors, staff and students celebrate at AFTA’s 2020 graduation ceremony.

AFTA were pleased to welcome back past graduates for AFTA’s 2020 graduation ceremony.

It was an important day marking the achievements of our graduates now employed as first officers with our partner airlines Ryanair and Stobart Air, flight instructors, and flying for other airlines all across Europe as they embark on the start of their flying careers.

Our Graduation Ceremony was hosted by our third level education partner Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) in the newly refurbished Rory Gallagher Theatre.

CIT and AFTA have collaborated to create the ‘International Business with Aviation Studies Programme’, which was recognised at the recent 2020 Education Awards.

Dr. Fenton was on hand to open proceedings for our Graduation Ceremony, handing over to Head of Training and CEO Captain Mark J Casey who welcomed the many family, partners and friends of graduates who had travelled from all over Ireland and Europe to attend this special day.

After speeches from our senior instructors and guest speakers, all graduates were invited on to stage where they were met with a rapturous round of applause as they were presented with their Graduation Certificates.

During the speeches, the pivotal role that families, partners and friends have played in supporting graduates during their training to achieve their goals was acknowledged and words of wisdom were shared.

The Graduation Ball followed the day’s events was held in the Rochestown Park Hotel.

The team at AFTA are extremely proud of all our past graduates and wish them continued future success in their careers.
